Also Known as Mexican spice basil, this variety has a spicy flavor which is similar to -you guessed it- cinnamon. In fact, the same chemical that provides flavor in cinnamon (methyl cinnamate) is found in cinnamon basil. Use this variety in pastas and salads, or use it in baked goods as a substitute for cinnamon.
